Jennifer Runyon has died at the age of 65.

The iconic ’80s actress, best known for roles in Ghostbusters, A Very Brady Christmas, Charles in Charge, and Up the Creek, died on Friday, Mar. 6, according to a statement from her family shared to Facebook.

“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away, it was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile,” read the statement posted to her official Facebook page on Sunday, Mar. 8, per TMZ. “Rest in peace our Jenn.”

What is Jennifer Runyon’s cause of death?

Runyon’s cause of death has not been confirmed, however, the family’s statement hints at a lengthy health battle.

Tributes and legacy

Although she partially stepped back from acting in the 90s, Runyon occasionally returned to the screen in later years, appearing in horror movies like Silent Night, Bloody Night 2: Revival (2015), Terror Tales (2016), and Spectral Squad: The Haunting of Sophie Lawson (2025).

Runyon is survived by her husband, Todd Corman, whom she married in 1991, and their two children Wyatt, 32, and Bayley, 30.
