ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – This week’s Dialogue will feature segments on National Kidney Month, a new local kidney awareness event, a book tied to the Six-Triple-Eight battalion, and a preview of Sigma Gamma Rho’s 2026 Youth Symposium.
Marsha Parker, who previously lived with chronic kidney failure, and Tee Taylor with Albany Recreation and Parks will discuss the signs and risks of kidney disease. The segment is tied to National Kidney Month and World Kidney Day.
The guests are also promoting a first-time event called “Paint the Town Green,” aimed at raising awareness under the message “Your Kidneys Matter.”
Author Brenda Partridge-Brown will also appear on the program. Her mother was a member of the Six-Triple-Eight battalion, which was made famous by Tyler Perry’s film on the subject.
Darian Baker and Rose Walker of Sigma Gamma Rho will preview the sorority’s 2026 Youth Symposium.
