The headliner for the Players tournament is ludicrous — literally.
Ludacris will headline The Players’ Military Appreciation Concert on TPC Sawgrass’ iconic island green on Tuesday, March 10.
The Grammy-winning musical artist Chris “Ludracris” Bridges will take the stage following a Military Appreciation Day Ceremony celebrating local service members ahead of The Players Championship golf tournament.
Practice rounds will be available to the public Tuesday and Wednesday, as the golfers warm up for competitive play beginning Thursday, March 12.
“Military Appreciation Day means a lot to us and welcoming Ludacris to one of the most iconic stages in golf is a pretty special way to celebrate,” Lee Smith, executive director of The Players, said.
Who is Ludacris?
Three-time Grammy award-winning artist and “Fast and the Furious” actor Chris “Ludracris” Bridges will headline The Players’ Military Appreciation Day concert Tuesday, March 10, at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Known for iconic hits like “Stand Up,” “Get Back” and “Rollout,” Ludacris has reached double and triple platinum on all his albums after his breakout album “Back for the First Time” first went triple platinum.
He also has a long history of supporting charitable causes aligning with the event’s focus on community and service, according to The Players’ press release.
“I’m ready to stand up on the iconic 17th hole — the stage will be epic and the energy will be electric. Join me to kick off the best week of the year in Ponte Vedra Beach,” Ludacris said in a promotional video.
When is the Military Appreciation Day Ceremony?
The Military Appreciation Day Ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, on the Island Green 17th Hole.
Family‑friendly and for all ages, two children ages 15 and under may attend the performance free each with an adult that has a ticket.
The concert is slated to start immediately following the ceremony.
Is Ludacris’ The Players concert free?
Admission to Ludacris’ concert is free with the purchase of Tuesday, March 10, tickets.
Tickets do not include parking passes. Parking must be purchased separately.
