Pop star Justin Bieber had a strained moment with paparazzi outside of a restaurant in West Hollywood on Friday night, where the singer lost his composure after being surrounded by photographers as he departed with wife Hailey Bieber.

The moment came after the couple had a late-night dinner at popular celebrity restaurant Sushi Park. As they left the restaurant and walked toward the parking garage where their car was waiting, a gaggle of photographers had already congregated near the vehicle, cameras at hand.

Footage recorded from the scene shows Bieber looking frustrated before walking up to the SUV. Just after entering the car, the singer threw a Fiji water bottle out at the paparazzi before shutting the door.

The bottle had no effect, it struck the ground and did not seem to hit anyone, but the gesture underscored that he was unhappy with the situation.

Hailey Bieber, accompanying him, held her cool amid the fleeting clash. She didn’t respond to the photographers or the incident, and climbed into the car with poise as the couple got ready to drive off.

Then their driver pulled away, ending the tense moment.

A look into Justin Bieber’s previous controversial encounters with paparazzi

The incident is the latest instance in an ongoing saga of public altercations between Bieber and paparazzi, underscoring the singer’s longstanding annoyance at being followed or photographed during what should be private moments.

In April 2025, Bieber faced paparazzi in a separate road encounter. This made headlines when he went on Instagram Livestream during the incident where photographers were supposedly tailgating him while driving.

At one point during the livestream, Bieber voiced his frustration, calling the situation “crazy.” Police sirens could be heard in the background later, and the singer seemed relieved to hear that authorities were stepping in.

Bieber has long been an outspoken critic of paparazzi culture, insisting constant monitoring is invasive and dangerous.

In a number of recent posts on social media, he posted videos of photographers swarming him and his wife as they tried to get into their car after outings.

The singer went through a similar incident that occurred during the 2025 Coachella season when photographers found him at a Palm Springs coffee shop.

Upon leaving the building, he explained how paparazzi are more interested in novelty than human beings.

“No. Not good morning. You already know. Why are you here? Money, that’s all you want. You don’t care about human beings,” the singer had remarked during 2025 Coachella

Bieber has been in the public eye since he was a teenager. His early ascent to fame made him one of the most photographed figures in show business.
