NXT Vengeance Day was announced less than 3 weeks ago, on the February 17, 2026, episode of NXT. Even in a hurry, the PLE was meant to be epic. The first NXT PLE of the year was all about what its name says: vengeance. Destroy was the keyword of the event. NXT Women’s wrestlers were the stars of the show, with 3 matches, and they proved it in the ring.
Even though I lived it live with you all night long, it’s time to take a look at the PLE after a few hours of sleep. I realized that doing live results is all about raw emotions. When the adrenaline rush stopped (well, once in bed), I became aware that there was more in this show than I actually wrote. Here’s an NXT Vengeance Day 2026 Nygma-Review.
Street Fight – Blake Monroe defeated Jaida Parker (3/5)
What to retain? What’s next? Yes, I love everything hardcore. Then, Jaida Parker unleashed the Black of Blake Monroe. We had a lot of toys on the menu: tables, chairs, trash cans, kendo sticks, diamonds, and pearls. Monroe emerged as the winner, but to be honest, there was no good winner between Jaida Parker and Blake Monroe. The worst of Monroe got the best of Parker.
Then, the storyline was hard to hook into. No Championship was on the line. Less than a month to go until NXT Stand & Deliver, Monroe’s position is extremely odd, and I have no idea where she goes from here. Parker, at least, can go anywhere at this point. This entire thing was about Parker returning to NXT, more than Monroe’s possible road to any NXT Women’s Championship.
Tony D’Angelo defeated Dion Lennox (2,75/5)
What to retain? What’s next? Tony D’Angelo wanted to destroy DarkState; he did it. His final target in DarkState, after taking all the other members out, was Dion Lennox. The pre-match “Street Fight” worked pretty well, with OTM stopping the other members of DarkState. The men had a wild brawl. D’Angelo slammed Lennox onto the hood of a car.
After a referee kept calling for D’Angelo and Lennox to get in the ring, they crashed through the wall of the balcony at ringside, and the match officially got underway. The match was just as good as the brawl, with Lennox pulling out an impressive spot when he suplexed D’Angelo from the ring barricade through the commentary desk. Then, without the brawl, the match would have lacked luster.
WWE NXT Women’s North American Title Match – Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame (c) (3,5/5)
What to retain? What’s next? The match of the night, without any doubt. When the storyline and the match make sense, the magic happens. I started writing about NXT when Tatum Paxley became NXT Women’s Champion. The depth of the character hooked me. She was fragile and strong at the same time.
Izzi Dame is a good wrestler, but not without Shawn Spears and Niko Vance being too far. Then, the right woman in Paxley ended up coming out on top by becoming the new Women’s North American Champion. And the match, a flurry of fast-paced and innovative action, was the exclamation point of a great storyline. The door is open for a rematch, probably with a stipulation.
NXT Underground Match – Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan (2,75/5)
What to retain? What’s next? One of the most hate-fueled feuds heading into the show was between Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice. Jordan had bragged about being the first person to make Vice submit, albeit with the help of Vice’s injured right hand. I have to confess, I have never seen an NXT Underground match. The dark atmosphere contrasted with the match’s shining violence.
Jordan adapted greatly to this “different” world, easily mixing her gymnastics background with the submission style. The match was aided by Vice trying her best to keep the injured hand away from Jordan, but once Jordan got a hold of it, she was off to the races. Vice, as a former MMA talent, played the game perfectly. A nasty Spinning Back Fist gave her the KO victory. Now, will Jordan and Vice have another match before one of them is more than probably called up to the main roster?

NXT Championship Match – Joe Hendry (c) defeated Ricky Saints (2,5/5)
What to retain? What’s next? Why don’t I believe in Joe Hendry? He is not a good Champion and a good heel. Hendry has such impassioned, cult-like support from his fans that he could have never won a single world title, and he probably never should have. Before his TNA World Title reign, he was a viral sensation and a solid hand in the ring. He’s not the most exciting wrestler in the world, so not the greatest Champion.
The main event switched into the least interesting match of the PLE. Hendry’s song and charisma don’t make him a great wrestler. Being a fan favorite is not the key to triumph. I waited the entire match for Ethan Page’s arrival. We knew it was going to happen because Ricky Saints asked for his help. A NutCracker ball ended the match, Hendry retained, and we already know that the NXT Stand & Deliver main event will be Hendry vs. Starks vs. Page for the NXT Championship.
That’s all for the NXT Vengeance Day 2026 review. Till our weekly NXT “rendezvous,” may the Nygma be with you.
