Finnian Garbutt, 28, entering last stages of life after cancer fight

() — A television star from Northern Ireland says he has entered the final stages of his life after fighting skin cancer.

Finnian Garbutt of BBC’s “Hope Street” was diagnosed with the disease in 2022 but recently posted on social media that it had “progressed rapidly” in his body.

“I am now entering the last stages of my life,” Garbutt wrote. “I’m putting this out there as it is really difficult to tell people individually and I hope now it’s in the open then I can enjoy the time with my amazing family and friends.”

The 28-year-old discovered the cancer had spread quickly once he underwent tests after experiencing pain in his back and hip.

“Since being diagnosed four years ago, I have achieved so many of my life goals — 30 episodes in a TV show, being the lead in a movie (that should be out soon), buying my own house, marrying my best friend and becoming a father to the most incredible baby girl who never fails to make me smile,” he said.

Garbutt, in February 2022, underwent 12 hours of surgery to have 75 lymph nodes removed from his neck and face. Two years later, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma.

Garbutt began his acting career in 2020.
