For the rich and famous, wave pools are the salve for a surfing thirst.
And one, in particular, draws celebrities of all kinds – from musicians, to actors, to British royals, to politicians, and beyond. That would be the Kelly Slater Surf Ranch, located 100 miles away from the ocean in cow country, California, aka Lemoore.
The latest mainstream celeb to hit the pool? Ryan Gary Raddon, better known for his stage name as one of electronic music’s greatest, Kaskade.
More than most of the other celebrities to surf Slater’s pool, Kaskade has skills. He doesn’t require the help of the “human Viagra” – as dubbed by Cindy Crawford, since he can get anybody up (get it?) – the surf coach to the stars, Raimana Van Bastolaer.
Instead, Kaskade surfs the pool sans training wheels. And he does quite well, compared to some of his other celebrity counterparts.
A stylish bottom turn on his backside here; a comfortable stance amidst the end tube section on his frontside there; and general ease, overall. Perhaps not his first time sampling the goods at Surf Ranch? Probably not.

“No place like it!” Kaskade captioned the video.
Even surf luminaries were impressed by the EDM DJ’s skills. Momentum Generation alum, Kalani Robb, commented: “Wait, what!?” Along with a clapping and “O face” emoji.
But all that practice comes with a cost.
According to reports, a private session will set you back quite a few gees. From our post on every wave pool in the world, it’s noted:
“High-season daily rental is around $70,000, while low-season costs are $50,000. Daily per person rate (at 10 s) is $5K to $7K. Hourly cost per person works out to $875 High Season $625 Low Season. For 12 waves, it works out to $425-to-$575 per wave or $9.50-to-$12.75 per second.”
If you got the dough, though, why not?
