Adoptable dogs strutted down the runway in a canine fashion show at Mar-a-Lago that helped raise nearly nearly $5 million, a record, for Big Dog Ranch Rescue.
The “Wine, Women & Shoes” event went from Friday through Sunday.

More than 2,000 guests participated in the fundraiser that celebrated fashion, philanthropy and lifesaving rescue efforts of the largest cage-free, no-kill dog rescue in the United States.
“This year was a record-breaking success and boosted awareness for Big Dog Ranch Rescue,” founder Lauree Simmons said. “It was a heartwarming display of community spirit, uniting style enthusiasts and animal advocates for a truly monumental cause.”
It includes a luncheon, live auction and onsite dog adoptions.
The canine fashion show was styled by Surf Souleil.
Celebrity guests included actress Katherine Heigl, an animal advocate; internationally acclaimed dog behaviorist Cesar Millan and Jeanine Pirro, the United States attorney for the District of Columbia and former Fox News host.
Founded in 2008, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has saved more than 88,000 dogs and is “committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing dogs into loving homes. The organization also focuses on education, animal legislation, helping keep pets in their homes, reducing shelter overpopulation, natural disasters, responsible pet ownership, and major focus on spay and neuter programs to reduce dog overpopulation. Its mission is to end dog homelessness and abuse nationwide,” according to a news release.
Big Dog Ranch rescue is located on a 33-acre campus in Loxahatchee Groves. It began in Wellington as an outgrowth of the Florida Weimaraner Rescue.
It has successfully trained and placed over 230 service dogs with veterans living with disabilities.
