20 photos from the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Huntington

Huntington Village was awash in green Sunday as crowds packed the streets for the 92nd annual Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and Greater Long Island was on the scene to capture some of the sights. Organized by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4, the parade stepped off at 2 p.m., drawing marching bands, pipe and drum corps, community groups and local organizations through the heart of downtown.

This year’s procession was led by Grand Marshal and Huntington Town Supervisor Ed Smyth, guiding the parade route from New York Avenue in Huntington Station to St. Patrick’s Church on Main Street. First organized by the Hibernians in 1930, the St. Patrick’s tradition remains one of Long Island’s largest celebrations of Irish heritage. (All photos by Eric Micallef)
