Brad Keselowski praises Michael Jordan’s NASCAR commitment

Brad Keselowski believes Michael Jordan’s involvement in NASCAR has greatly benefited the sport. As co-owner of 23XI Racing, Jordan has elevated the team’s profile. Tyler Reddick’s three early-season wins affirm the team’s competitiveness.

Jordan’s presence attracts attention from owners and drivers, boosting NASCAR’s appeal. Keselowski, a NASCAR Cup Series driver and RFK Racing co-owner, reflected on Jordan’s commitment, the challenges of team ownership, and the broad attention his brand receives.

Brad Keselowski Highlights Michael Jordan’s Engagement at the Racetrack

Keselowski said Michael Jordan’s influence is most evident in his active involvement at the track. The RFK Racing co-owner noted that Jordan’s regular attendance sets him apart from many other owners.

“I mean, it is hard to argue against Michael having a positive influence on this sport. You know, I love the fact that he’s so engaged at races, and I just can’t emphasize enough how important it is not only for Michael but for any of the key stakeholders to have physical presence at the racetrack. And that’s at all levels, not just the team owner level,” Keselowski said.

Keselowski also noted Jordan’s personal commitment. Traveling nationwide for races and spending long weekends at the track requires significant time and energy.

“So for him to have physical presence, I think, is a testament to his fortitude for being part of the sport because, let’s face it, although he won his first three races, he lost a lot more as every car owner will. It’s not a dig on him. And if I’m a guy like him personally and wake up and say where do I want to be today and I know that I have less than a 10% chance of winning, flying my butt all across the country when I have all the things Michael has is probably something that takes me a minute to emotionally justify.”

The Reality of NASCAR Team Ownership

Keselowski spoke about the relentless demands of NASCAR team ownership. The Cup Series schedule requires ongoing focus from team leadership.

Running a team means constant pressure for results and the challenge of overseeing staff, drivers, and sponsors. With many races but few wins, success is hard-won.

Keselowski said Jordan deserves credit for embracing those demands.

“But he does, and I’ll give him a lot of respect and credit for that because the sport is a grind not just for the people that work in it but also for the key stakeholders, be it team owners, executives, etc. So he’s made the decision and choice to participate at a high level, to be engaged,” Keselowski explained.

His comments highlight the long hours and travel of the sport. Owners typically spend race weekends at the track while juggling weekday duties.

Jordan’s Wider Impact on NASCAR

Keselowski also noted the broader benefits Jordan brings. Jordan’s global recognition provides NASCAR with valuable exposure. Keselowski said the sport benefits from that exposure.

“The fringe benefit for the sport is the brand that he has outside of it, which naturally comes with him, which is, I think, a great thing. I’m happy for him, and I’m happy for the sport. And I think it’s hard to see any negatives. I’m sure there’s probably some out there, but I don’t see ’em and, you know, generally happy he’s part of our sport.”

Jordan’s continued engagement draws sustained attention to both 23XI Racing and the NASCAR Cup Series throughout the season.
