CBS confirmed two weeks ago that country star Riley Green would be joining the cast of Marshals. But if you were one of the 9.5 million viewers who tuned in to watch the premiere of the Yellowstone spinoff, then you know that the “Worst Way” singer was noticeably absent from the show.
Riley was in attendance for the show’s premiere event in Los Angeles, where he treated the audience to a live concert of some of his songs. He had this to say about his character, Garrett, in an interview with ExtraTV: “Garrett is a former Navy SEAL, was on the teams with Luke. He’s troubled,” Riley said. “He’s got some issues in what they went through together back in the day. As he shows back up, he’s struggling to deal with all that, and Kayce is constantly trying to help him and let him into that Western lifestyle and what they have out there as Marshals. It’s a pretty vulnerable character.”
But other than a post on Instagram and a blink-and-you-miss-him clip in the trailer, fans have been left waiting to see Riley’s acting debut.
A representative from CBS confirmed to Country Living: Marshals viewers will be introduced to Riley’s character, Garrett, in “mid-April.” So we have a few weeks to wait! In the meantime, we’ll be watching on Sunday nights to see how Kayce Dutton’s story unfolds.
When we shared a post about the show on the Country Living Facebook page, some fans thought that Riley played Kayce’s friend Pete “Cal” Calvin in the first episode. “Riley Green was the one who recruited Kayce. Look it up,” one commenter said. “I didn’t recognize him at first because of his full beard.” But the character of Cal is portrayed by Logan Marshall-Green. We can see the resemblance, especially when Riley swaps his cowboy hat for a baseball cap!
